Art by Moon

I describe my art practice as consistently inconsistent. I explore with my art style and see what I can do differently every time I create a piece, whether it be changing the linework, or experimenting with the coloring and shading. I also play with the stories and emotions behind each work, to see how interpretive the idea can get. I mainly work on digital platforms such as Procreate and Procreate Dreams, my style usually shaping itself to fit a manga/anime aesthetic. My work consists of character designs and illustrations, the backgrounds remaining simple and abstract. In addition, I also look to find how I can make a character’s personality apparent throughout any expression they may be drawn with, whether that be with posing, color, clothing, or accessories. My goal is for a viewer to see the piece and feel some sort of empathy for the character portrayed. I want them to become curious, develop questions, and answer those questions with theories and free interpretations. My characters and illustrations may have set stories, but I am always excited to hear how different minds can view one piece.
